Tile Roofing
Clay and concrete tile installation and repair, built for Southern California's climate.
What This Service Covers
Tile Roofing Services
We install and repair clay and concrete tile roofing systems. Tile is one of the most durable roofing materials available, and it's especially common on Spanish-, Mediterranean-, and mission-style homes throughout Southern California.
A tile roof is really two systems working together: the tile itself, which is largely decorative and weather-resistant, and the underlayment beneath it, which does the actual work of keeping water out. Most of the repair issues we see on tile roofs come from underlayment that has failed or aged out underneath tile that still looks perfectly fine. Our tile work includes full installations, underlayment replacement, and targeted repairs for cracked, slipped, or missing tiles.
Key Benefits
- Clay and concrete tile installation and repair
- Existing tile reused wherever possible
- Underlayment replacement, the roof's real waterproofing layer
- Matching for cracked or broken tile
- Built for Southern California's climate
Why It Matters
Signs You Need Tile Work
- Individual tiles are cracked, chipped, or have slipped out of position
- You're seeing leaks even though the tile itself looks intact — often a sign of underlayment failure
- Your tile roof is original to an older home and the underlayment has likely never been replaced
- Tiles were walked on or disturbed during other work, like a solar install or chimney repair, and are now loose
- You're planning a re-roof and want to reuse existing tile where possible instead of replacing it
Our Process
How Tile Work Is Done
- Inspection — checking both the visible tile and, where possible, the condition of the underlayment beneath it.
- Tile removal — carefully removing tile in the work area so it can be reinstalled rather than replaced.
- Underlayment replacement — installing new underlayment, which is the roof's actual waterproofing layer.
- Tile reinstallation — resetting the original tile, or replacing any that are cracked or broken, to match the existing roof.
- Final check — confirming proper tile alignment, fastening, and flashing at valleys and penetrations.
